Together with family

Invite you to celebrate their wedding
September 26, 2026 at 5:00 PM
Westin Hotel
11 Colonel By Drive, Ottawa, Ontario
Welcome
After 13 wonderful years together, two amazing kids, a house full of memories, and more adventures than we can count, we’ve finally decided it’s time to make it official.
Our lives have grown in the most beautiful way over the years, and we feel incredibly lucky for the love, laughter, and support that surrounds our little family. Now we can’t wait to bring all of the people who have been part of that journey together in one room to celebrate with us.
This weekend isn’t just about a wedding, it’s about celebrating the life we’ve built together and the community of friends and family who have been there along the way. We are so excited to gather everyone we love for a joyful weekend in Ottawa and a party we’ll never forget.
Thank you for being part of our story.
With love,
Jennifer & Elliott
The Wedding
More than anything, we wanted to throw a fantastic party for the ages.
With that in mind, our celebration will look a little different from a traditional wedding. After the ceremony, we’ll be hosting a cocktail-style reception rather than a formal plated dinner.
That means plenty of delicious food – heavy passed appetizers, grazing tables, food stations, late-night bites, and an open bar – but no assigned seating or formal dinner service. There will be lots of comfortable places to sit if you want to take a break, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy the view, but the overall vibe is designed to encourage mingling, movement, and a great party atmosphere.
Our goal was simple: create a fun, relaxed evening where everyone is well-fed, glass in hand, and enjoying time together all night long.
We’ll start the evening with live music, and later in the night a DJ will take over to keep the dance floor going.
Hotel Information
While our venue is at the Westin, it is (somewhat surprisingly!) already fully booked for our wedding weekend.
To make things easier, we have arranged a discounted room block at the Lord Elgin Hotel, which is just a short walk away and a wonderful place to stay in the heart of downtown Ottawa.
You can access the preferred wedding rates through this link:
We recommend booking early, as September is a busy time in Ottawa.
Welcome Gathering
We’re kicking off the wedding weekend with a relaxed get-together the night before.
Friday, September 25, 2026
6:00 PM ET
Beyond the Pale Brewing Company
George Street, Ottawa
Anyone who is in town is warmly invited to join us — friends, family, kids, grandparents, and everyone in between. It’s meant to be a laid-back, informal gathering to start the weekend and spend some time together before the big day.
We’ll have appetizers and munchies available, along with a bit of champagne to toast the weekend ahead.
If you’re planning to join us, please RSVP for both the rehearsal gathering and the wedding so we can ensure an accurate headcount.
Travel & Getting Around
Our wedding events will take place in downtown Ottawa, which makes things easy for getting around.
If you’re flying in, Ottawa International Airport (YOW) is about a 20-minute drive from downtown. Taxis and rideshare services (Uber/Lyft) are readily available from the airport and throughout the city.
All of the weekend’s activities are located within walking distance of many downtown restaurants, bars, and attractions.
If you’re making a weekend of it, Ottawa in late September is beautiful. You’re steps away from the Rideau Canal, Parliament Hill, Gatineau Hills, the ByWard Market, and plenty of great patios and restaurants.
What to Wear
Dress to impress.
We’re going for a stylish, celebratory vibe — think cocktail attire with a little flair.
And since the reception is cocktail-style, you may be on your feet a bit more than at a traditional seated dinner, so plan accordingly.
In short: look great, feel great, and come ready to celebrate
FAQ
What time should I arrive?
The ceremony will start promptly at 5:00 pm. Please arrive 15-20 minutes early so everyone is settled before the ceremony begins.
Is there assigned seating at the reception?
Nope! Our reception will be cocktail-style, which means no assigned tables or plated dinner. There will be plenty of seating areas throughout the space if you’d like to sit and relax, but the evening is designed to encourage mingling.
Will there be enough food without a plated dinner?
Absolutely. We promise no one will go hungry. There will be heavy passed appetizers, grazing tables, food stations, and late-night bites throughout the evening.
Is there an open bar?
Yes – please, enjoy responsibly!
Are kids welcome?
While we love your little ones, the wedding ceremony and reception will be an adults-only celebration. We hope this gives everyone a chance to relax, let loose, and fully enjoy the night.
What about the rehearsal gathering on Friday?
Anyone who is in town is welcome to join us at Beyond the Pale on Friday at 6:00 PM. It’s an informal get-together to start the weekend.
Do I need to RSVP for both events?
Yes please! If you’re planning to attend the Friday gathering and/or the wedding, let us know so we can make sure we have accurate numbers.
When should I book my hotel?
As soon as you can. September is a busy time in Ottawa and hotel rooms can go quickly.
